TJHUB wrote: I purchased my Puma 27FQ new this summer. So far things have been just perfect with it. However, one thing that I miss from my pop-up is an outside shower. I used it a lot to wash my hands, feet, kids, dog, etc. Now that I don't have an outside shower, I really miss it a lot.
It's not a huge deal with out one, but the real advantage is that not every ounce of waste water goes into my grey tank. There are so many times I'd like to use one, I thought I'd ask if I can add one and has anyone installed one themselves?
Thanks.
well I have an outside shower on my Class A but when I hook my water up to the campground spigot I use a T type hookup that has a standard faucet on one leg and RV hose hookup on the other. so unless you are talking about using one while boondocking, don't know why one would bother. I use mine twice a year, once to winterize, once to dewinterize.

mobeewan wrote: You could add connections to your low point drains in order to be able to make quick connections for outside water. I added Flair-it adapters that connected to the tubing and had male pipe threads on the other end. I added brass female pipe thd x female garden hose adapters. I added plastic garden hose quick connectors with built in ball valves to use to turn the water on and off outside after opening the lowpoint drains under the kitchen sink. I can now use a garden hose with matching plastic male quick connectors and connect as needed to the hot or cold water drain lines.
I plan on getting a plastic laundry sink. I can remove the quick connectors from the brass fittings and connect washing machine hoses and then connect to the laundry sink to use for outside washing and cleaning. The sink drain can be routed with a hose to the camp site sewer connection. The legs can be removed from the sink and the sink used as an outside shower to stand in with a shower tent over it.
This is the ticket for a simple outdoor shower. Use your low point drains they are already there. I have an outside shower on the opposite side of trailer, however I created and outdoor hose connection (hot & cold) to give me easy access to water for cooking and doing dishes outside. I put valves directly on the low point drains and simply attach a hose. This set-up also works when not connected to city water and running on pump.
No need to fool around with outside shower hatch or walk around trailer for water. I considered some sort of portable sink as well but that was more than I really needed.

Just remember the primary rule of modification work:
MEASURE TWICE, CUT ONCE.
Come to think of it, that applies to all phases of carpentry, metalwork, etc.

Oh so that's where I have been making my mistakes. I thought it was measure once, cut twice.

Depending on how the plumbing is run It might be set up for it. I have an Aerolite and the lines for the outside shower are there and have a plug in them. All I would need to do is get the shower unit and cut the hole in the wall. Go to the dealer and see where similar model units have there outside shower. The go home and check the plumbing in yours you might be surprised.
