It is with a heavy heart that I post this note. On Aug 18 2008 Search and Rescue K9 Partner and camping Partner, GSD Trisha passed over the Rainbow Bridge.Trisha had bone cancer.Trisha was found as a stray on I-20 ouside of Covington- Madison Ga. in Aug 2001 near a rest area. I feel she was lost from someone traveling maybea camper, we tried to find her owner, but she was not chiped or no other id. Trisha was about 4 or 5 mos old.
Trisha was certified as a Wilderness Trailing K9 for lost persons and had some live finds in her life time. She will be greatly missed by me as she will always be my Beloved Partner and Loyal Friend.

Very sorry for your loss.

We had to have two of our dogs PTS last week. One, my DW's "Heart Dog" was a beautiful Sheltie, who had Kidney Failure, and who she had been giving Saline Solution injections to for almost 2 months, to keep "Cookie" with us. Eventually, she stopped eating, and we decided it was time.

The same day, our Lab-mix, "Gidget", who was diagnosed with Liver failure, had begun to have trouble walking, and would fall down on occasions. She was too big for DW to get in/out of the house, when I was at work...... Again, we hoped the Vet might have another miracle, but it was felt that it was for the best to send them on their way over the Rainbow Bridge together.

We are fortunate that we have other dogs.....six of them, and they fill us with such happiness. It doesn't take away from the pain of the loss, but it does dull the edges a bit! (See the pictures link in our signature)

There are quite a few of our wonderful pets on the other side, and we know that they are in a better place, without pain. I'm sure your wonderful GSD, who had done such good while alive, is also in that better place.

We feel your pain, but also know that there was such joy in your life, having had this special creature as part of it!

Best wishes.......

So very sorry to hear of the loss of your very special dogs, prayers and heartfelt sympathy to both of you.

Carl, we had an awesome GSD that had started his police training but was injured and could not continue, we had him from 1990 to 2001, he was such a special dog, he will be playing with Trisha now.

PapPappy, Loosing two dogs at once is very heartbreaking but think of them playing together now pain free and with all the dogs that have passed over Rainbow bridge. We lost two dogs within months of each other and sure remember the sorrow we felt.

So sorry for your loss. Trisha gave a great deal during her life. It seems fitting to start out as lost dog then spend much of her life finding lost people. What a beautiful soul.

You have our sympathy. Losing a child is so hard, whether furry or not. Just remember all the good times, and that you will be joyfully greeted when you cross over. I plan to be buried with a tennis ball in my hand so I'll be ready.

kb4wnj my heart goes out to you over you loss. Trisha sounds like she was an awesome dog and you had a huge heart to give her a loving home. We lost our beautiful rottie to osteosarcoma almost a year ago, and it truly is a heartbreaking disease.

PapPappy, losing one furbaby is so hard, but to have 2 cross the Bridge in such a short span of time must feel very overwhelming.

LOSS OF A DOG
If you've ever known the joyful sound
Of barks that fill the air-
A sloppy kiss, a friendly paw,
A quiet adoring stare-
If you've ever had a special friend
To share a tear or two,
Or maybe just a wagging tail
To lift you when you're blue-
If you've ever felt the wrenching pain
That only death can send,
Then you have lost
Not just a dog-
You've truly lost a friend.
But God is good and treasures love
And there at Heaven's gate-
A sloppy kiss, a joyful bark-
Your precious friend awaits.
