My Onan microlite 4000 doesn't charge my batteries. I have approx 9 volts at the batteries and 2 volts at the invertor across the hot and neutrals below the fuses. the 110 works fine as i have 120V at 60 h at my outside plug and the A/C runs fine off the gen. The camper is a 95 dutchman. any thoughts? is ther an inline fuse that i can't see? i dont believ the campers fuse panel or pdu has any fuses for the battery correct

There is an inline 50 amp breaker in our panel. VERY SMALL black button on a terminal block with two large wires attached. If you have one of these, push the button in...

The generator does not charge your battery. The generator supplies 110 V AC to your on board "Convertor". The Convertor then changes the 110 V AC to 12 V DC and that is what charges your battery. SO look to see if your convertor is plugged in, should have a 110 V plug going into an 110 V outlet, and if it is plugged in, make sure there is in fact 110 V AC at that outlet. If all that is OK then look for a fuse on the convertor itself. A 9 volt reading on your battery is a "dead Battery" and maybe it is beyond charging. Good luck.

As said the generator suppies 120 volts not battery charging volts. What is the make and model of the equipment that changes 120 volts to 12 volt battery power? BTW whatever it is is probably dead.

When i say the generator charges the battery it does as I should be reading 13-14 volts at the battery when the generator is running. I understand how the system works and yes its plugged in as Im getting 110 from the generator. the question is how the battery recieves voltage from the system. bad invertor?

I'll look for the reset (fuse) button any idea on where it would be located ubder the hood?

I can't understand what you are asking. Your original post said you had 9 volts at the battery. If the Convertor is hooked up right and working right, the reading at the battery should be around 13.6 volts. If you do not have that kind of voltage, you can not test the rest of the system until you get that battery charged or replaced. Now if you are asking about the "Invertor" that is a different piece of equipment. The Invertor is supplied by the battery voltage and it turns 12 V DC into 120 V AC. SO if you only have 9 volts at the battery, which is a dead battery by the way, there is no way the invertor can work because it does not have a proper DC voltage to supply it. So either charge the battery or get a new battery and then you can test the "Invertor"
