If you had someone to wash & groom your pet at the park would you appreciate the convenience?

We are travelling with 2 dogs (mini weiner & a beagal) and wonder if there is anyone that does grooming on the road?

There are a number of mobile groomers around. They have specially equipped vans or small motorhomes. They come to your home or wherever your dog is (I would imagine). They offer full services while parked right outside your door. I am pretty sure they would come to a RV Park, etc.

I'm not completely sure that answers your question since I'm not sure you need this kind of service or are thinking about starting one.... but I know that almost all urban areas have mobile groomers. I would guess that a call to 411 or a look in a local phone book would help locate such a service.

I was thinking that it would be nice to have someone in the cg that would walk your dog when you have to be away for several hours at a time. I guess that is a "dream on" thought.

My little dog fits right in the bathtub. I have trimmed him with the clippers right on the picnic table. I try to manage the hair from going all over the site...I pick up and throw it away.
There are two nice little businesses right there if a campground would allow it. Pet washer and attendant. Has anyone ever printed their own business cards and put them on the bulletin board at a campground? I am thinking of simple sewing/repair/alterations. Maybe if we go for several months this year, I will just print up a few cards and try it. I have a small portable 3/4 size machine and a separate pack of sewing notions and tools for travel.

We had one enterprising young girl at a CG that saw the number of dogs that were camped there and went camp site to camp site with homemade flyers for walking dogs and watching your dogs in your MH when you went sightseeing.

Generally we ask the campground that we are at for recommendations or look up someone in the phone book. Ours have been groomed in lots of places and most of the time it has worked out fine.

Now that is a great idea for people that are full timing with kids and home schooling! I would imagine that a responsible young person could pick up a bit of spending money watching other campers' dogs while the owners went to town, played golf, recreated. Heck, even an old coot like myself could probably do it but as it stands now, all the neighbors in the campgrounds I have been in kind of reciprocate with each other--"I'll watch yours if you watch mine" kind of thing.
