In several post I have seen mention of a Pet First Aid kit. Could someone please tell me what all is in one of them? Something I could make up my self or is it something you have to buy? Since we camp with two rat terriers a kit sounds like something I should have!

Thanks!

The American Red Cross conducts Pet First Aid classes in many areas and here is a helpful link:
Be Prepared for Pet Emergencies

Note that they also stress planning what to do with your pets in case of a disaster. We were caught off guard last year when we had to evacuate due to wildfires and one of our dogs got a very upset stomach from all the turmoil. Immodium is now included in our first aid kit!

we always carry a homemade one in the car just in case we come across a hurt animal. we always have a bag of temptations. can of cat food and even a container of wild bird seed which we have had to use when a small bird lost the rest of the group and was alone in a tree. the wildlife people told us he would stay there until the next flock came and if we wanted to feed himit was okay so we did everyday. he was in a safe place along the highway where nothing could get him. in a couple of weeks away he flew with the new flock.
