call this:
Cabbage Rolls without the rolls made in the crock pot
1-2 LBs hamburg
1 Small Cabbage
2 cups of rice cooked according to directions
1 large can of tomato soup or 2 small cans
Brown hamburg, I do mine in the microwave. Spray bottom of crock pot with Pam. Chop cabbage. Put 1/2 down first in the crock pot. Top with 1/2 the meat and rice. Pour enough tomato soup to cover. Add whatever spices you like, I add celery salt, onion powder and black pepper. Then add the rest of the cabbage, meat and rice and cover with soup. Add spices again. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours.

I make a batch of mashed potataoes, chop up and cook up to a whole head of cabbage to the just crunchy stage (seasoned with salt and pepper) then add some cooked chopped up corned beef (either left over or from the deli) until the meat is heated. When we eat it we sort of mix the potatoes, and the cabbage/corned beef with some horseradish sauce (to taste) and dig in. It's sort of like a hash mixture I guess but Really good in the winter time.

My wife can drive me wild (no, I mean with this recipe!) She chops the cabbage; cuts up some Yukon gold potatoes or red potatoes, microwaved until soft; adds some chopped onion; and low fat (turkey or other) sausage. She stir fries the whole thing in olive oil with minced garlic until the cabbage just begins to be transparent and adds a little cayenne and smoked paprika. I can't help overeating when she makes this stuff.

I use Cavender's Greek seasoning on nearly everything, especially grilled foods - steak, chicken, pork chops, etc. Great stuff.

Bubble and Squeak
1 ounce butter, margarine or bacon fat (bacon fat works best)
1 onion, finely chopped
1 lb potato, cooked and mashed
8 ounces cabbage, boiled until soft
ground beef (optional) or lamb (optional)
Melt the butter in a large frying pan (preferably cast iron), add the onion and fry for a few minutes until softened, stirring frequently.
Add the potatoes and cabbage.
If you are including the beef, add this as well. Add salt and pepper (or other seasonings) to taste.
Fry over a medium heat for about 15 minutes until brown, then serve.
