Has anyone used the Doggywood Kennel at Dollywood while visiting Dolly? We are considering it instead of leaving our Chihuahua in our camper all day while visiting the theme park. Our Chihuahua simply sleeps all day in the camper and is perfectly content, but I really don't like the thought of him being by himself all day. We are considering using the Doggywood Kennel at Dollywood, but are afraid this will make him a nervous wreck! He really hates being around other dogs. Any suggestions? Thanks!

I wouldn't, if your Chi is used to sleeping all day, in your camper I would think that the kennels would be very distracting and scary for her, just curious, but why would you change it now?

We are staying at a campground where the sites are closer than we are used too. I guess I'm a bit afraid that he may possible occasionaly bark and disturb someone. Also, some people get really upset to see dogs left in campers unattended. Our Chi really requires his "rest time" and welcomes the opportunity to just burrow in a blanket and sleep. It also helps that he is trained to use a puppy pad.
Thanks for your affirmation of what I was thinking. He doesn't realize that he is a dog...and the kennel may make him have to go on nerve pills

If the weather is mild, no worries about overheating, and your pup is comfortable in the rv and has had a good long walk before you go, I would think the rv is a way to go. With respect to the other rv'ers, I'd leave a fan and/or tv on for white noise, and leave your number with the management and/or the neighbors.
Now if you get to the rv park and the dog is ballistic about the neighbors, then you might want to reconsider. But boarding a dog in a strange place is usually pretty stressful, especially for a dog that is an only dog.

Susan is right, we always leave the fans on, we leave a radio on low and we leave the sun shades down, we have in the past also leave a tape recorder going just so we have an idea how they are behaving, we also always leave our cell number with a little note on our door just in case there is a problem or an emergency, we've never had a problem or complaint and our two dogs have always been more at ease in their own familiar enviroment.
