I know there is one on I-15 going south from NV. What about on I-5 coming from Oregon? Do I need to throw away my fruit I have bought in Washington before heading out tomorrow?

Most often we are just waved through with no inspection or questions. Once we were asked if we had any tomatoes???
We had one and we gave it to them.

Inspection station near Mt. Shasta closed due to CA budget cuts. Truck inspection facility still open. The one coming back into CA from NV is closed as well.

Last June when we were stopped they only ask if we had any oranges. We said that we did have a few that we bought in Missouri so they wanted to see them. When they saw that the sack said California Oranges they said, "have a nice day."

During my past two trips out of CA, I was stopped on the way back.
On Route 15 between Las Vegas and CA I was stopped and they actually inspected what was in my refrigerator. On the next trip, they just inquired if I had any fruit.

Ok thanks. I guess I will just bag it up and keep it in the cab. If they want it, they can have it.

All the inspection stations opened back up on Oct.1st!! Even the ones who have not been staffed except for big rigs. They are open for cars and Rv's.

Is this something new, don't recall seeing any in 2005? I've never stopped at weigh stations or inspections stations. Have always considered those for commercial carriers, not personal vehicles.

The weight stations are for commercial rigs, but the "agricultural" inspections stations are for everyone. They are also interested in ferrets, as they are outlawed in California, and will be taken on the spot.
