My son's absolute favorite: Hamburger Hash, brown your hb w/onion and bell pepper. Drain the fat off and add a large can of diced tomatoes, one cup of rice and two cups of water, season w/salt, pepper, garlic powder and chili powder to taste. Cover and simmer till the rice is done. Top w/4 or 5 slices of velvetta and serve w/Doritos..
My mom got this off a Doritos package when I was a teenager, and that has been 40 years.
many many years ago , a girl I was dating took me to her aunts house, for lunch she fixed us a hamburger like I had never had..
She made patties,, flattened them and then put cheese and onions and I don't konw what all on the bottom one,, the put the other half on it, put them together and simple pan fried it..
I remember that to this day and my addition was to add some refried beans in the middle..
then build a big ole hamburger,, and "try" and keep it all together when you bite it
we would make up meat loaf mix and grill or fry it and make burgers with all the typical stuff.
I think I said this before, but get you a fresh brisket and trim off most of the fat and grind it yourself.. makes the best hamburger you ever had.. and YOU know what is in it..
Mom's "Vegetable Meat Pie" - A casserole, not a pie.
A layer of fairly lean ground beef (uncooked) on bottom of a casserole dish followed by layers of sliced onions, celery, carrots, and potatoes. Each layer lightly seasoned with salt and pepper.
Repeat layers as above.
Top with canned tomatoes including juice.
Cover and bake.
I've never measured anything when making this recipe.
Many variations of this are possible. However, as creative as I am prone to be, nostalgia has kept me from messing with this one. I usually use ketchup as a condiment as I did as a kid.
For my taste, it's even better left over so I usually fix more than we'll likely eat at one meal.
My mom sent me this one and my kids love it. We leave out the mushrooms, though!
Cheesy Beefy Spirals
2 cups cooked spiral pasta
2 lbs ground beef
2 small onions, chopped
1 garlic clove, minced
1 26 oz jar spaghetti sauce
1 4 and a half oz sliced mushrooms, drained
half cup sour cream
half pound velveeta cheese, cubed
2 cups (8 oz.) shredded mozzarella cheese
Brown the ground beef, onions and garlic, drain. Stir in spaghetti sauce and mushrooms; bring to a boil. Reduce heat, cover and simmer for 20 minutes.
Place half cup of meat sauce in a greased, shallow 2 and half quart baking dish. Place half the pasta over the sauce. Top with half of the remaining meat sauce, spread with sour cream. Top with the process cheese and remaining pasta and meat sauce. Sprinkle with mozzarella cheese.
This recipe has been posted before, but since I have it in the crock pot right now, I thot I would re-post it, (sorry if it's a recent repeat).
Taco Soup

Mix all ingredients together in a crock pot. Cook for 2 hours on High, or 6 hours on low. Use a crock pot liner for easy clean up.

After I brown the meat and drain and add chopped onion and bell papper brown some more.
Add the cooked mac n cheese.
Make sure the mac n cheese has alot of milk so it will not dry out.
Place in the oven till bubbly and a lillte brown.
You can also add diced tomatos.
Me and my roommate cook this on occassion. Same way, always with diced tomatoes and we often add taco bell mild or hotsauce to it.
