What a little beauty. Tell us more.

I once stopped at a house on the way home from work. The homeowner was playing in the yard with his dog and fawn. The mother was pregnant and was hit on the road, dead. The fawn apparently popped out and he stopped and scooped him up. He had to get a permit and built a pen until he matured.

This little cutie is just adorable. I'm guessing he wouldn't have stood a chance in the wild. We need more info!

This tiny deer was delivered by Caesarean section at a wildlife hospital after his mother was killed by a car.

Little Rupert, who is so small he can fit in an adult's hand, was born after vets failed in their battle to save his mother.

At just six inches tall and weighing just over a pound, he is now in an incubator in the intensive care unit at Tiggywinkles Wildlife Hospital in Buckinghamshire, UK

He has only recently opened his eyes.

Les Stocker, founder of Tiggywinkles, said: "Rupert's mother had very severe injuries and could not be saved. We brought him out and got him breathing and then he went into an incubator on oxygen. He is now being fed by a tube."

Rupert pulls a striking pose for the camera

Staff are optimistic Rupert, now five days old, will make a full recovery.

"Deer are very, very tricky but this one has spirit. He's an extremely feisty little guy and quite pushy," Mr Stocker said.

Is Rupert normal size for this breed of deer or is he just incredibly small? How wonderful that he was rescued even if his mother couldn't be saved.

This little guy has been all over my email for the past couple of weeks, many, many pictures of him were posted on various websites. I am wondering if they handled him too much, in the process of taking the photos. What a gorgeous, perfect little creature, albeit premature. I wish he could've survived.
