My B+ has limited storage, and my kitchen cabinet would rapidly fill with chili powder, paprika, garlic powder, etc., so I was thinking of looking for a receipt or small file type box at an office supply store. Something I could store my spices in and put under the sofa bed maybe, to free up cabinet space. What do YOU do?? Thanks!

Greetings;

About a month or so ago, (sounds like once upon at time!!) - my better half saying "something smells"! She looked and looked or should I say smelt and smelt? To no avail. Nothing could be found - but the problem smell persisted. After double checking every 'nook and cranny' - she finally said one of her spice/seasonings containers was at fault.

Either spilled or improperly closed bottle, go figure. Lesson learnt here my friend is no matter where you store those smelly items make double sure they are properly sealed. I noses!!!!!!!!!

BB

p.s.My crocked ol' nose found no foul smell(s) but her's is mighty finer.

Try doing a "Google" search for "The Tubular Spice Company". There are several options available from them. I use the wooden one with the test tube looking containers. It comes with 40 1/4 oz. tubes plus 2 spares. It's about the size of a large index card file. I set it on a piece of expand rubber shelf liner and it has stayed put on the countertop, from one side of the country to the other.

I just use a square, flat tupperware container with the spices in some medicine bottles. They are light weight, air tight and can easily be replaced when they get old.

Hi everyone!

My DH made me a wooden spice rack that hangs on the wall. He lined it with Stainless steel and I bought the metal spice jars from Canadian Tire they are magnetic and they sit perfectly in this rack. Never move or take up cupboard space.

Thought you might like my idea.

Our trailer came with a spot just under the sink that's perfect for spices. I did downsize a lot of the bottles for smaller versions.
I have a small plastic box with an attached lid that worked until we got our new TT. It came from Wal-mart and is called a CD box.

OFF TOPIC to Cake Lady - I went to a Canadian Tire store in August when my friend and I visited her friend in Burlington Ontario. I found that store entirely fascinating!

I give another vote for Tubular Spice Company. I use one of their wooden-based racks. Very convenient, safe from breakage, and it allows you to bring a ton of spices. I keep one in the house too! Just love it.

All spices, seasoning packets, flavoring bottles go in a plastic shoe box. Can be stored almost anywhere.

A friend bought me a small nylon pouch full of spices - it's called "Thyme to Go" and has 10 small plastic containers with snap-on lids and had spices in it. As we have used them, I replace from home and have added other spices that we use for the ones it contained that we don't use as much. It can be kept anywhere in the camper, it doesn't weigh much of anything, is small and has a zipper to open and close. It works great.

Look at it
