I am not a big drinker but have found I like Frantz Sunset Blush, which is lightly sweetened. Can anyone suggest a red wine which is lightly sweetened? I am looking for the health benefit.

I tried to do a search, but it's too difficult because of LONG posts.

Thanks,

Rebecca

Probably a Syrah would be one of the sweetest of the reds..although no reds are really going to be that sweet....
Cabernet Sauvignon, Red Zinfandel, Pinot Noir, Merlot are all reds as well, but not as sweet....big bold flavors, lots of tannins which are the "scrubbing bubbles" that you are looking for..

I believe that white wines also are good for the heart...try for a sauvignon blanc, or fume blanc. They are sweeter than their dry counterparts (chardonnay, pinot grigio, etc)....

my doctor told me the RED wines were the best, while not the best, the roses are ok..

shoot even a Carlo Rossie rose will do,, not too sweet, but not bitter either.. makes a good cooler when mixed with slice or diet slice 50/50 and a squeeze of lime.

Woodbridge is'nt too bad for an inexpensive wine. Cab. A secret to improving a red wine is to pour it into the glass and let it sit for 10 minutes or so before drinking. Or use a decanter that has a lot of surface area to let the wine breath. The esters need to vulcanize.

If you don't mind some sweetness, then you can use any red at all to make sangria, which is basically a wine and fruit juice cocktail.

My favorite is roughly 1/3 cranberry juice, 1/3 diet tonic, and 1/3 wine, over ice, with a wedge of lime squeezed into it.

If you like this idea, you might want to look at the suggestions on this page, and remember, you really don't need a recipe!

Carlos Rossi Paisaino. Its semi-sweet and comes cheap in huge bottles and its good. Might be a little off on the spelling of Paisainno.
