Hi all...

Fam and I are considering basing out of Williams arizona and then driving just the truck into the grand canyon to sight see. How long of a drive are we looking. Thinking spring break trip (end of march).

TIA

It is about 60 miles from Williams to the Village and another 25 to Desert View. Are you planning on commuting this route several times?

Figured with two 6yr olds and 1 3yr old a single day at the grand canyon would be enough.

Thanks for the info...kinda what I figured!

That's what we did when we were there this past summer. Once at the Grand Canyon, we parked at the general store and rode the shuttle busses from there. Plenty of parking there and the busses make it easy to get around.

Would you consider taking the train?

I have heard some bad reviews of the train. That was our original thought until I read more about it. Now thinking we will drive in. Also by driving in we are on our own time schedule if we need/want to leave early (ie if the twins are threatening to throw either each other or their baby sister in the canyon....yeahh.. thats what its been like at our house lately) or if we want to stay longer.
