We came home after six months absence to find the bathroom faucet had been dripping leaving a thick crust of mineral deposit. Any home remedy's other than a jack hammer would be appreciated.
Thank you in advance.

Aside from the fact that CLR isn't a word and I never heard of it, there was no link to clarify the initialism. S.V.P.

Most mineral deposits are calcium thus, a base. Vinegar should be the substance that works.

Still there is the chance that you have an acidic deposit. If so, you'd want to go the opposite way, to a 'base' substance, or baking soda. Baking soda is great for counters, fridges, and such.

CLR is capitalized because it is a brand name for a product that is designed for cleaning up hard water problems. It is carried by many hardware stores and you may also find it at a home center like Home Depot or Lowes.

CLR is a product, but the letters stand for Calcium, Lime, and Rust. It works really well.

I thought my rv kitchen drain was clogged on one side. Turns out it was the strainer was built up with crud. I tried CLR and I tried chiselling it with a screwdriver. The stuff wouldn't budge. Ended up having to replace the strainer.

I used a CLR product and it removed some of the deposit and the chrome from the drain.

Close the drain, add plain white vinegar, and let it soak.
