I have a Lodge 12" cast iron skillet. I was just on their web site and I notice they make a cover for it. Does anyone have one and use it? I was thinking about getting one.

We have a lid for our 12" skilet and use it a lot. We so bacon, sausage, or ham and potatoes in the skillet and with the lid on the potatoes cook much faster. We move those items to the side and add eggs and a couple of ice cubes to have basted eggs to complete our breakfest. We fry hamburger broken into small pieces with onions, green and red bell peppers then add tomatoes to make a chilimac dish. With the lid on every thing gets hot faster. The tight fitting lid effectively makes the skillet a pressure cooker.

I bought a lid at a garage sale that fits 12 inch skillets but before I found it I bought a pizza pan and my husband put a knob on it. Worked for years as a lid.

The DW uses a lid from HERE They are light weight, don't melt and are easy to clean. The best part is they don't rattle.
She also has some of the cookware and that it great also.

I have a couple of "universal" aluminum lids. One goes up to about 10" and the other around 15". They're on the lines of a pizza pan a handle but have slight concentric stampings to help keep condensed steam running inside the pan.
