Two weeks of driving a 2007 Dodge Ram convinced me there was much more to making a good truck than a fancy red paint job, and the Ram was lacking all of them. Weighed twice as much as my 1986 Mitsubishi Max and had less carrying capacity.

Face it, most Chrysler products have more plastic in their interiors than a Toys'R'Us store.

Chrysler's Problem-
Bought by German juggernaut, at the time didn't they have billions in the bank?
Kill the neon, bring in the larger, less fuel efficient Caliber.
Germans spend all the cash and sell the struggling company.
I've read nothing but good things on the new rams, I want one. My biggest beef as a Dodge fan is that when MPG was getting more and more important they only have a very few cars getting 30 mpg, no sub-compact.

They sure do. Almost as much as the new Tundra. What other materials are available for interiors since they're not stamped steal any more?
I should have paid more attention in school. Then I'd know 6% is a drop in the bucket that I was not complaining about, just commenting on and, I'd know that Chrysler is the only one who uses plastic in their interiors. It's amazing what an education can do for you. If I was really smart, I could spend countless hours storing meaningless net forum threads on my 1 TB external hard drive because I have nothing more enjoyable to do. Some of you smart guys really need a hobby. Don't you have a golf T collection or something fun to tinker with or a country club to hang out with friends of your high caliber? I can't imagine why someone who has life by the oo's would be hangin' around an internet forum dominated by uneducated pickup truck owners. Doesn't sound like the pastime of a highly educated successful person to me. Sounds more like a wannabe pretending to be all uppity and stuff.
Hind sight is always 20-20. Can't change the past but I really hope Chrysler comes back strong with Fiat. If not, my next truck might have to be a Ford with a 6.2L gas V8 and a cheap plastic interior. Built in Kentucky by other uneducated folks.

Nope. It was pointed out in another thread that Toyota pays union level wages and benefits, thanks to the hard work of former and present UAW members. It was very well spelled out in the article that Chrysler's offerings were the problem, not it's labor force. They just can't afford to pay for corporate stupidity and greed while paying they're workforce a decent wage at the same time. So something had to give. The UAW members were willing. Others weren't. AOL's having corporate problems too eh?

My 1998 RAM has been flawless. Thanks Chrysler and good luck. I drove all three in 1998 and the Dodge was the best! Eleven years later I have no regrets.
