The trailer is a little low in the front, indicating improperly adjusted WD bars, and/or the rear suspension of the Toyota is under "stress", and the hitch is really really low, must dig furrows in the driveways...and wait! Is that transmission fluid belching out of the bottom. Why yes, I think it is! Isn't that so cute, tho!

I did that "towing with a mini van thing" twice! Dodge Caravan and Ford Windstar. RIP!

On level ground trailer is perfectly straight as is the minivan. CAT scale receipts (more than a dozen of them) show WD bars are adjusted perfectly. Have had zero issues dragging hitch, and transmission fluid smells/looks brand new, even after 80,000 miles. Any other questions?

Maybe you just didn't know what you were doing? It is always good to ask for help in cases like that

Looks ok to me. No way to know if the numbers all work, etc. but your level looks fine. I think fordsuperdooty was giving you a hard time. Good luck with it!

The numbers work out as well. Am under GVWR, GAWR and GCWR as well. Just thought I would show careful and safe planning can go a long way and appearances can be deceiving.

Also tows exceptionally well, and gets 12 mpg towing and up to 25 mpg not towing.

My brother has a Sienna AWD....I wonder how it would do towing? He has been thinking about gettinga small camper. I think he said the twoing capacity was around 3500lbs.

What a lot of people do not realize with minivans and most cars is that the towing capacity of these vehicles do not include the added weight of cargo and passengers in the vehicle. What this means is, as is the case with the Sienna, is that you can tow a 3500lb camper, and still have 900 lbs of cargo/people left before you reach the max weight (GCWR). Most if not all trucks/SUV's require that you deduct any and all cargo/people off the towing capacity.

So while the Sienna "only" has a tow rating of 3500lbs, if it were rated like a truck/SUV, it would have a 4400lb tow rating.

The Sienna is an excellent tow vehicle. It has a longer wheelbase, wider track, and lower center of gravity than almost every single SUV sold, even ones with much higher tow ratings.

I don't know if I would tow a rig as big. I do, however believe MODERN MINANS are better TV's than people give credit.

Here's my set-up...

How much does the RV weigh?

Also, do you have any towing mirrors? Many smaller tow vehicle owners don't realize that they need wider mirrors to see what's next to their camper before changing lanes.

Nice setup, fsds. I'm not a Toyota fan, but they build great vans. A properly set up van like that can make a great tow vehicle.
