Interesting thing occured over the weekend with my 2007 dodge ram 1500. DW and I were sitting in the family room watching some TV and kept noticing brake lights coming on and off. Didnt pay it much mind though thinking was the neighbors. Kept happening though and finally got off my butt to take a look and discovered wasnt the neighbors at all but my truck. The brake lights where coming on/off randomly . At first thought someone was inside trying to steal it but my armed expedition proved otherwise. Thought maybe someone was on the same alarm frequency but when this kept happening decided cant be. Must have a short somewhere and now the truck is sitting at the dealership awaiting a thorough once over to find the problem. Leaving on our first camping trip of the season on Thursday 05-21-09 so hoping the dealership can get er' done in time. Anyone else experience anything like this? THoughts on the cause?

Does your truck have the key fob for remote unlocking the doors? Maybe something nearby was using similar frequencies.
Of course, if the neighbors kids realized they had some electronic thing that would cause your truck to do that, they were probably having fun with you....

Could you have been setting on your remote?

Can you shoot someone who is trying to steal your car, and not get into trouble?

Perhaps it's not haunted, but possessed by evil truck demons. These are VERY hard to get rid of and require a specialized truck exorcist. That can get expensive.

There are only soo many of the codes for the auto door locks etc. Could be neighbor with the same car code. Could even be a garage door opener, or even a plane flying overhead with a certain radio frequency! I remember reading about some one could not figure out why once a week the garage door went open at "11:30 on tuesdays" turned out to be a weekly airplane that flew overhead once a week! So do not rule out the "unobvious!"

If I thought that someone may be attempting to steal my property, I too, would arm myself. Not to shoot someone if they were trying to steal the property but would if they attempted to attack my person or my family. Pretty stupid to go "investigating" unarmed if you have the choice, wouldn't it?

Ok here, lets keep the arming thoughts questions comments to a minimum, as that is a quick way to get a thread closed/deleted or otherwise. Kinda like political or otherwise comments!
So WITH that, can we keep comments to the what might be the issue, ie shorting, nearby clicker with the same code etc!
Thank you

Not sure if this applies or not, but I had to stop carrying the remote for my Ford Freestar van in my pocket because the alarm button was so incredibly sensitive that it would turn on from time to time. Now I just use the key or the buttons on the door.
Regarding the "armed" comment, just be thankful that you can still choose to protect your life this way.
