Topped off the 4 house batteries and checked the voltage of the chassis batteries, which I do the first day of each month.

Exercised the generator and tested the new voltage and frequency meters. Still need to decide where to mount them.

Winterizing ... South Texas Style
  • Checked all the wheels for pressure and condition
  • Replaced both the AC shrouds
  • Replaced the roof fridge vent
  • Replaced two other vents (man, that sun is tough on plastic)
  • Serviced the generator - oil change and new filter
  • Installed a Cobra CB radio
  • Set the SWR with a meter that I've had hanging around forever
  • Installed the digital to analog converter on both TVs
  • Cleaned the roof
  • Replaced both house batteries and then spent two days trying to figure out why I wasn't getting any DC voltage to the coach (but that's another thread)
  • Put new dispensers in the shower for shampoo & soap & whatever
  • Added a couple of towel hangers in the bathroom
  • Collapsed !
Now - all I've gotta do is find time to take a trip! Thanksgiving it is!!!

Changed the engine oil and filter, replaced both fuel filters, power steering filter, and both transmission filters, replaced both headlight bulbs, cleaned the radiator and installed a longer vent tube. Also bought new TomTom XL335S GPS.

We decided to upgrade to a new (2008) Winnebago Tour 40TD The previous MH served us well, teaching us a lot about what we liked and didn't like. The new one has more space, more power...even a ceiling fan in the bedroom. I'll pick it up Friday and the maiden voyage will be in two weeks.

Cleaned off all six batteries and box, blew out all water lines, and ordered all new filters for both the engine and generator. Still need to take it out for some exercise (been 2 months now). Soon as the filters all get here, I'll do all the yearly filter/lube requirements.

Have a great day!
