I saw an ad last night for the Off Clip On. Sounds like it works similar to a Glade Plug-in air freshener, but instead of flowery smells, it emits a smell to drive away mosquitos. Has anyone tried them yet?

I did find a buy one, get one free offer on Off's website.

Good question...

Well I am still not sure that it works. This weekend we used the ThermaCELL Portable Olive Mosquito Repellent but also added in a Centanela (sp) Candle and together got no bites even with all the wet weather. I only ran it from about 5PM to 9 PM and went through the 3 packs of stuff and one tube of gas for the 4 nights. So about 16 hours total, average cost about .38 cents an hour. I understand that the new OFF Clip-On that works and was wondering how it is doing and the average cost? Also have you found you can walk around with the OFF Clip-On or like the ThermaCell have to stay in one place that is within 7 feet of the thing?

Saw the Off clip-on's at Amazon for $10.99 and the refills $4.99, Had one review so far and he wrote that it seemed to attract the mosquito's!

We used the Thermacells last summer and were very impressed with their ability to keep mosquito's and flies away from us.

I went and bought the OFF Clip-on starter kit last night at Wally World, it costs $8.38 and the refills are $3.88 for a 2 pack. Each pack "CAN" last upto 12 hours. So that would be $4.15 with tax or .17 cents an hour of use. More than twice as cheap as the ThermaCELL, but I still don't know if you can walk around with the CLIP-On and it still work.

Would love to give them a try but every time I go to buy them they are sold out! Have to admit I haven't given any place but Wallyworld a try tho, not much else to look in my area.

I have a straw hat that I spray periodically with DEET (DEET is the active ingredient in Off); this works so there is no reason why the clip-on wouldn't work too.

We have had a set for a couple of weeks now. With the end of baseball season ending for littte league we have tried them out 3 times so far with good results. I am heading out to camp next week and will give them a good run for the money. I will post results.

I've tried them and yes you can walk around with them But as far as being head to toe protection I'm not so sure. I think is is dependent on which way you direct the little fan. It worked best when I put it on a table and aimed it at me.
