Hi All!
I need to put new tires on my tow vehicle (2002 F250 superduty diesel). I was wondering what has worked best with you folks on your tow vehicles. I am towing a 36ft Cougar with a 10,000lb dry weight. I currently have BFG A/T's on my truck. They were a good tire but wore out fairly quickly. Your feedback would be most appreciated.

NO LESS THAN "E" RATED TIRES! There are several good brands of tires available with different price ranges. Get what you feel is good with at least a load range "E" or more.

What about the Goodyear Wrangler "Silent Armour" tires. I understand they are built with kevlar for added strength. Anyone wearing these guys?

I really don't know what your meaning, but I would not call a tire that wore out fairly quickly a good tire. Any idea why they wore out soon than you expected?
I had over 60K miles and still good tread on my orginal BFGs when I swapped them out. Most all that mileage was towing. I did so before a 12K mile trip to Alaska in '07. On hindsight, I probably didn't need to change them for the trip.
I replaced them with Michelin LTX M/S. I'm pretty anal when it comes to adjusting tire pressures depending on the loaded and unloaded weight. But I can do that since the TC is either on the truck for some time or off for some time. I no longer have my fiver, but the TC is a heavier load than what the fiver was.
Just be sure you replace them with at least the OEM tire rated on the door sticker.

Thanks for your replies everyone!
What I meant about my current BFG's being a "good tire" despite the wear characteristic, was their off road performance. They were pretty good in mud, rock and snow and never punctured.
So, E rating or better. I will have a look at the brands you all have mentioned so far.

My truck came with Pirelli Scorpions, Load Range E. I replaced them at 65k miles, with the same brand/size. These are all-season tires, not suitable for mud & snow. My truck is 2-wheel drive, and stays on pavement, so these tires give long wear and a quiet ride.
