We had a 97 Tacoma 4x4 for 10 years 315,000 mi when we traded for another Toyota, we also have an 2004 F250 we have had for 5 years 52,000 mi. The Toyota trips for dealer waranty service were 3 over a ten year period. Ford trips to dealer for waranty in the first 3 years 27 ....... I still love my F250 but I gotta say Toyota is doing something right and ford is doing something wrong. JMHO

My buddy in Seven Devils, NC has a 2000 Tundra that the frame is rusting out from under him. Local dealer refuses to do anything. I told him to squeal louder and continously. As for the floor mat jamming the accelerator pedal and killing four...........why in the world didn't he just turn OFF the ignition switch and or put it in NEUTRAL? They had time to call 911 on their cell phone. Still sounds fishy to me him being a California Highway Patrol member. No brainer. JMHO

Here is another article outlining some of their recent troubles in quality as well as economically. Sounds like too they need to deal with the "whistleblower", Dimitrios Biller, "the former national managing counsel who oversaw the company's National Rollover Program from 2003 to 2007. Now he's a whistle-blower claiming the Japanese giant has been hiding potentially damning evidence that should have been provided to owners who’ve sued the company over allegedly defective products."

For sure. Just like all other car companies problems sneak in under the radar. It goes look however that they take their issues seriously and act accordingly.

If you believe the attorney that used to work for them, some of the problems didn't sneak in under the radar, but were known and documented issues, and the documentation was destroyed and hidden.

GEEZ remind me to never post anything about a recall. Seems like LOTS of people would like to either "KILL THE MESSENGER" or "Crown him King". Could it just be that he was wanting to make sure owners knew about the potential problem? It COULD HAPPEN

Again i dont see where its a recall its an investigation. I dont think 20 complaints is cause for a recall. It may turn into a recall but right now its not.
