Did you use a sealant over the leading or windward edge??

CW service is recommending a 2 part epoxy brush on sealer to be applied after the Dicor is installed. I also noted that CW had a eternabond look alike that they are selling. I also note that Walmart is selling small Eternabond patches in their RV section.

Since Dicor was the preferred sealant that came on my Lance, I intend to use it on the reseal job as there are areas that are not condusive to being taped but will probably use the Eternabond any where that I can get a line. I have been told that one of the most likely places for a leak is around the plumbing vent.
I noted on my lance that the tail light was half full of water so I guess that the taillight bezel which is rubber allows water to run down the backside of the camper and migrate between the filon and the bezel. I intend to remove the tail lights and caulk where the wires exit the camper frame. I don't see any good way to insure that water will not get into the tail light again.

Seal as you can but I would consider a small hole in the bottom of the lens.

Heat the Dicor prior to using it works and flows much better. Just guessing but I think the hot boxes used keep it near 120.

So now what do I do,, I think a combination of the the two suggested would be best,, straight areas for eternabond and dicor for round or other not straight/flat areas.

Thanks for all the input

Good idea (let water out/let critters in)

I think U are on the right track. When U get done....suggest you call Seltzers in Huntington, WV about leak checking with their Sealtech machine. Camping World charges $99 but they are 300 miles away but Sealtech says Seltzers has one and they are only about 50 miles.

To remove the old caulk (Dicor) I bought a super hair drier at a church junk sale for $1.00 to use as a heat gun. I guess it will also work to heat the new Dicor to 120 degrees. Right now it is 97 outside as Central Florida is experiencing a heat wave.

I'm going to do the perimeter of our 2 roof vents on the Outfitter...just prior to installing 2 MaxxAir II roof vent covers.

My approach will be to use the EternaBond-A Seal product (with 4-mill aluminum sheeting on the weather side of the tape) at 4 inches wide (not the skimpy 2-inch wide stuff), then paint the aluminum side with white urethane paint (to match the roof color). I'll then install the MaxxAir II vents over top (no screws into the roof membrane needed to install the MaxxAir II units).

The extremely thick aluminum on the weather side of the EternaBond should keep it protected for at least 30-years (right around the time it'll need a new roof membrane replacement). The super wide 4-inch webbing, when applied as verbatim EternaBond notes instruct, should never lift along windward edge (even if some micro lifting does occur, there is still well over 3 inches of webbing adhered). I'll place the 3 sides not windward first, then cap the windward edge last (lapping to minimize leading edges). The trick is to make sure that the EternaBond does not crease all the way across the webbing, thereby creating a "tunnel" that would allow water under, I should think.

Cheers,
Silver-
