I was not blaming any specific "RV Owners". Just saying that bent hangers are a very common problem that usually occurs from normal use. And that is why Lippert has the answer so quickly at hand. In the OP's description, being a new member, he stated "actually very few miles on it as we are in a membership campground and even store the trailer there." So can we assume the hangers bent from the trailer just sitting around? If that is the case, he certainly does have a problem with the workmanship. But the engineering is pretty typical, regardless of the manufacturer. And this hanger design been pretty successful for many years.

The OP wants to go to the expense to change the entire axle assembly, because of bent hangers. If that is what he wants to do, good for him. I have no problem with his decision. He recognized that there may be alternate advice as he wrote "I know this can be a can of worms because people have opinions, but that is what I want."

He obviously has experience. And probably knows how hangers can get stressed. Had he mentioned this previously, my opinion may have been worded differently. Regardless I wish him the best with his decision.

You're in Alberta so why not call Standens in Calgary?
http://www.standens.com/trailer.htm

The fellow who helped us out was
Lawrence Trieber
Manager, Standen's Ltd Axle Division
Calgary, Alberta
PH 403-258-7877
Lawrence.Trieber@standens.com

When we replaced our axles earlier this year, we were super-impressed with the customer service. Lawrence was extremely patient as we asked all the dumb questions and he promptly replied to emails. They also shipped to us at a very reasonable cost.

Actually did just that. Checked out their reputation in Alberta and it is very good. They also have been around a long time so that counts for a lot.

Closed. There are many threads running about Lippert frames and they have become "bashing" threads. Start a new one and I am going to delete any that get into the "bashing syndrome" without comment. It is helpful to those who own those frame to learn but it is not a good thing to take the whips to the company. Facts only without the editorializing please.
