When I looked at pic #1 I said, "why on earth would anyone go there". Pic #2 explained it all. :-)

The 'wild' ponies are very tame. They walked right through our site (they've never read this forum, so they don't know better).

Doesn't appear they are open all year round. Only until the 26th of this month for 2009 and I'm assuming opening up again in April (if you go by their 2009 open dates on their website)

The Federal park, which is right next door, is open all year round. They have no hookups, and I believe they only have 1 loop that allows generator use.

The ponies are there all the time. Once a year they herd some of them through the water to be auctioned.

I guess you were at that big car show. That is a good looking car you have. I had a 69 red Road Runner, with 383 & 4-speed. I was down at the park in June it is a great place to stay.

I was at the show, but chickened out taking the Road Runner. I wasn't sure if the park could handle the trailer. As it turns out, they will let me leave the trailer in the registration area.

My Road Runner is a B5 Blue convertible. It was originally a 383 column-shift auto, but the original engine is long gone. I had it converted to a 4 speed and dropped in a 528 Hemi that Tim Banning at For Hemis Only built.

I kept it an a/c car by doing the "hidden" Sanden compressor under the alternator.

I'm registered for the Spring show and will be in an electric site at Assateague again.

Great pics....can't wait to see those of the ponies. We had planned on going last year while out there (had reservations) but had something came up and we had to cancel. Guess we'll have to make another trip east!!!
