The wife and I took about an hour and installed the RainKap Black Streak Relief product on the camper today. We bought the 28' roll and ran it across the back side and rear of the camper. The awning is on the other side and the front has no place for it.

It took about an hour to install as it didn't go in as easily as it should have. Although not shown in this picture, I ran a strip of 2" Eternabond that was 3/4 on the roof and 1/4 on the RainKap. Had enough Eternabond to overlap the edge of the camper where the awning is so now both side edges and the rear edge have been covered with Eternabond. Will need to get a 4" wide roll to do the leading edge.

Here's a shot of the back side of the camper with it installed:

I'll watch what happens when it rains this weekend while we are camping at Pine Mountain, GA.

I've never seen that before, does it slide into the old gutter or some other method? Looks like a good idea. Hans

I'm not familiar with this product either. From the pictures it appears to be a drip edge that extends the runoff out away from the camper sides. It will be interesting to here how effective it is.

You will love it

I've had it on for over a year now and it has completely eliminated any black streaks. It also prevents potential leaks from anything under it like windows, clearance lights, etc. since the water runoff from the roof never hits the sides of the trailer. Finally, it unlike the convential gutters/drip rails can't clog or be overwhelmed since the more runoff the further away from the side of the trailer the water is thrown. Below are a couple of pics during a storm I took of how it works.

In that second pic you can see all the water on the side of the trailer where the RainKap stopped.

Check out the link in my sig for my RainKap installation and how I took care of the awning side of the trailer.

You remove the screw cover insert from your camper and the RainKap goes in its place. It is supposed to slide in easily but mine did not, I had to work it in little by little. Even so, it wasn't very hard to install.

This looks interesting. I use a cover on my TT during the winter. Will these work with a cover or will the cover break them off?

IIRC it was recommended to use one of those screen door rubber rollers to force one side into the molding.
