For the last 5 years I have been using the basic sewer hoses that the dealer gave me when I purchased my rig...I haven't been with out problems and its time to purchase a new sewer hose set up so I am wondering what you guys and gals are using and what's good. Of course what to stay away from as well....

Thanks

I get the heavy duty hose at Wal-Mart, Brown in color. Have also looked at the Rhino hoses they sell as well...maybe next Spring I can seel the DW on splurging for a new hose...we just replaced our first set of hoses this past Spring (4 years old).
I also keep a spare hose...just in case !!!

Rhino is one of the best. I had mine for 5 years and still doing good with it NO problems yet...knock on wood. You can also do a search as this subject has come up in the forums in the past for more info.

Suggest you consider Sewer Solution in your query.
It uses water pressure to drain the black tank and you only need a 1" hose. A lot easier to handle and keep clean.
Its slower to dump so I use the ole standby stinky slinky at dump stations, but for campgrounds with hookups, its a snap. I've used mine for 5 years of fulltiming.
BTW: It will even work uphill if necessary and you can use some really long runs its said. I've never needed more than 30' myself.

After 30 years of those thin hoses that a thorn or stone put holes in, I got the Rhino last year and will never go back to those thin plastic ones again.

Lots to choose from out there but I just use the heavy duty basic hoses that are made with a little thicker vinyl. However, I'm still using one of the cheapies that I've had for many years.

the "sewer solution" option looks good, maybe that choice with a basic hose as a back up...hmmm decisions decisions

I agree with Hershey! I have been using the Sewer Solution for 3 years now, both on the road and when parked at home. At home we have a 20 foot run with a slight uphill slope to the sewer connection. The Sewer Solution works well in both applications.

That being said, you need to know that this is not the answer if a source of water is not available when you are ready to dump. It works well enough in a normal hookup system (most campgrounds) but requires a water hook-up to macerate the material going down-line. I carry a standard "stinky slinky" and would use it in a situation where the Sewer Solution wouldn't work. Over many campgrounds, full hook-ups, and dump stations, I haven't had to use it yet!

The only time I had a problem with was (early on in our RV'ing career) when my DW put a tampon down the toilet. This brought the flow to an abrupt halt and I had to deal with some unpleasantness in order to clear the blockage.

I have been very happy with the product and will continue to use it.

I give my vote to the Rhino sewer hose as well. Should have got one long ago.

I want to leave this earth quietly in my sleep like my grandfather and not like the hysterical, screaming passengers riding in granddad's RV just before the big crash.

Look for the new design Rhino. Both ends swivel. You'll appreaciate that once you've tried it. There are also locking rings available which I have but don't see the need to recommend. I carry two Rhinos and occasionally have used the connecting adapter. I keep a jar of vaseline with them for lubricating the connections.
