If the only problem you have with your new RV is they didn't give you a remote control then consider yourself lucky...

Forget the remote control...more importantly is getting the fireplace to work correctly (you have tried to adjust the temperature control...correct?)

I just spent 50 grand. Yeah I consider myself lucky...

Only trying to help here...

When you say it turns off after 3 minutes are we talking about the heatingportion stops putting out heat or the entire fireplace (including the effect of the fire) turns completetly off? or both?

I just bought a small free standing Dimplex/electralog fireplace for my Raptor. It has a thermostat to set for the temperature, I would guess yours does too. I would see if you can at least hear the thermostat clicking on and off. When yours is running and shuts off, can it be restarted by turning up the the t-stat? If so the thermostat is bad. In my instructions it does state that the unit will shut off in an overheat condition and has to ccol down to be reset. You can try call customer service at Dimplex to at least see if they can troubleshoot it for you. Then go back to the dealer.

Something to check...I have an early '07 3814 and when I connect it with a 15 amp cord (sometimes a long one) and try to run the a vacuum, it'll run for maybe a minute, then cycle on and off about every 3 seconds. I think it's the transfer switch making and breaking contact due to the "load" of the vacuum motor...might be similar with the resistance load of the fireplace's heater.

It sounds like the unit thinks it is overheating and turning itself off. Is there any sensors you can check?

I took it back to the dealer today. While the Fireplace was sitting on the floor in the middle of the shop, it prematurely cut off by itself, while the Keystone rep was standing right there watching. He looked a little surprised and said, "well, we have put these into thousands of Keystones. I've never seen one fail like that". So, I guess I was the first lucky customer to have this happen...

There's not much in the owners manual either, except for about 4
different languages. It does tell how to replace the light bulbs.

When I picked up my Raptor I didnt realize I was missing the remotes either until I got home. I was missing the dvd player remote as well and couldnt even use the funtions without the remote. I call Keystone to verify that and the went to the dealer to have them order it and send them to me. From what I hear it's a common thing to not recieve the remotes. I was also missing my spare tire but I saw that before I left and made sure they gave it to me. So MAKE the dealer call keystone and get you the remote, Keystone will more than likely have to place the order with the fireplace manf. then you will get it. Fun isn't it. Jeff

I know it's only a remote and a fireplace that does not work, but I'm on my second Keystone product. The First was a Cougar and surprisingly that one went pretty well. But now I went to a Raptor and upped the ante by about 35 grand. The bad fireplace is stting at the dealer, we are going camping this weekend for the maiden voyage of our new Raptor with parts missing. I am not a happy camper at this point.
