Notice the missing fireplace under the TV in front of the chair...

I am a bit mechanical myself, worked as an auto mechanic for 12 years before I took a factory mechanic job. I can only imagine what would have happened if we treated people like this at the Ford dealer I worked for. My whole isssue is , I did not agree to buy a damaged repaired unit. I bought a new vehicle and expect the manufacturer to stand behind their product. After all of the issues when we first got it, I would have been happy for them to replace my unit with one that was right from the get go. Would have even payed the price increase if it was a newer model year. Now we all know how that's going to work out. As far as fixing this thing myself, I absolutely REFUSE to do anything to it while it's under warranty. As I told the Keystone people-You built the big piece of C__P- not me. At least have the guts to fix your own mistakes! I guess my biggest problem is I went from a Cedar Creek 5er to this, and the quality is SO much less. We never had an issue with slideout floors being so weak. We use the dinette alot when we travel at rest stops to grab a bite to eat and sometimes hang out with the grandkids. This is now no longer an option as we're leery of even letting the kids sit on it.

Hi.............We are in Az. and it is cool........Turned on our furnace last night and all it does is growl. The motherboard has apparently gone...Then we turned on our fireplace and it turns off when the blower is on high........It will run on low.......Called Dimplex themselves and they are sending a new panel for the top....We bought this Montana Aug. 1 year ago and have had major problems with it...they have fixed most things but our dream of this expensive retirement unit has torn us apart.............The warranty is gone on most things and the expense it overwhelming at times...................

I recently bought a 2010 Wildcat 31TS 5th wheel and it has the BF8000ST fireplace in it as well. I am having the same problem with the fireplace cutting off. I made sure the fireplace was sitting on a solid surface so air could flow under it and it still cut off. I tried adjusting the thermostat with no luck.

Forget about calling Dimplex directly. I have called three different times and was on hold each time for over 30 minutes and still didn't speak with anyone.

I believe I will take it out of my 5th wheel and bring it to the RV dealer where I bought the RV and let them deal with it.

I have the same model Raptor your do and mine did not come with a fireplace remote control. When I questioned the dealer, he called the factory and was told it did not come with a remote. Not really a big issue but just one of those little things that add up. At least my heater works.

Ray, You SHOULD NOT SETTLE for anything less! If you look at the brocure, and the Raptor website, you will clearly see a remote control in a hand pointed right at the fireplace and some text claiming the fireplace remot control. My old fireplace also did not work. So I think I had both my dealer and Keystone over a barrel at that point. However, my dealer and Keystone looked after me as a customer and took care of the problem. We, as customers of very expensive RV's must hold the manufacturer to their claims. That will make them a better company and us happier customers. Do not settle for less. I need to take a picture and show you how the new fireplace and trim work the dealer did looks. It looks real nice. I also remounted the TV on a TV mount that looks a whole lot better than the stock setup with the TV on the stand.

FWIW, the 2010 Raptor brochure doesn't show this or mention a remote for the fireplace. The picture is from the 2009 Raptor brochure. The 2010 Raptor brochure says there's a fireplace and shows a picture of it but there's no mention of a remote.

I stand to be corrected, the Website definitely says the Fireplace has a remote control, not the brocure. IMHO, Websites these days are just as good as a product brocure. The brocure does state "Compromise Nothing" and I didn't. FWIW, the Website was enough to sway the manufacturer's decision and dealers decision to replace my fireplace with one that has a remote control. Why would a 2010 brocure show a 2009 fireplace?
