We are also shopping and deciding. If you can get to a dealer for each do so and get the feel of each one. We had the opportunity to do this at an RV show and I was able to walk back and forth between the two to compare them both at the same time.

From my comparison that day, I did not find the Chevy model Pleasure-Ways to be as comfortable and open (if any of these can be said to be open) as the RT. The Ford Pleasure-Ways was a bit more roomier feeling than the RT because it is wide-body. The RT, however, seemed to be more configurable to sit in the front to lounge, see the TV, etc. Plus the RT has a second table in the front to leave the bed set as a bed all of the time.

I have been told on this group that they compare equally in quality. There is a difference in the toilets to be aware of and the RT190 and up have a second fresh water tank.

We are still undecided, but lean toward the RT190.

Pricing on both new seemed to be negotiable down to around $75000. and with some changes in features maybe a little lower (according to the RT dealer at the Show anyway).

The Pleasure-way Excel also has a front table, maybe the unit you looked at didn't have it set up. Also, you can leave the back table in place even with the electric sofa down on the Excel TS model. It also has available the V-10 with a 5 speed automatic transmission. I have had three new Pleasure-ways over the last 9 years and never had more than a very minimal problem with any of them. I have never owned a Roadtrek so I cannot comment on them. I might suggest getting a free copy of the Pleasure-way DVD showing how they are built, I don't know if Roadtrek has the DVD's but if they do that might be a good way to compare them. Great West Van also builds a comparable unit.

Although I've never driven a PW, I did try an F350 based Coachmen "C" when we were first looking to buy an RV. I couldn't get my size 12s past the doghouse into the driver's compartment, and Bev wasn't comfortable in the passenger seat. A real deal-breaker for us. One test drive in the RT 210 and we were sold! We've just finished our seven month long season in the RT - two months of traveling time and 5th year in the rig and have never regretted out choice. Dunno what kind of economy the F350 gets in a class B, but we get 14 - 15 mpg with the Chevy, even seen 16 mpg with a light foot...

i currently own a 2004 roadtrek C190V. and ive previously owned a 1999 dodge 170p. Having said that, I will say its amazing how my preferences have changed in 10 years. Ive been a "trekker" for over 10 years now and i will say that im currently in the process of jumping ship to the pleasureway. For the most part, those shopping for one will/should choose the floorplan that works for them. I am looking at the Ford Excel because its the roomiest of the class Bs even compared to the Roadtrek 210. headroom, elbow room, walking around room, perception of openess.

Fit and finish in my humble opinion is much better in the pleasureway. if you look at the seams. or under the countertop in the roadtrek looks very spacey and unfinished.

i know some will complain about the room around the driver and passenger areas in the excel and they have valid points.

some will also complain about the handling of the excel but those have been improved and are able to fix to your liking.

overall i recommend that you sit, drive and spend time in the units your looking for. like i said i loved the versatile plan and as times have changed i now am looking at the excel because it fits my use ...................................for now. Good luck

Hello. We've had 2 Roadreks and 1 Pleasureway and I believe that the quality of the Roadtrek is substntially better than the Pleasureway.

Heck, folks, we wouldn't own one or another if we didn't think our choice is the best!

My suggestion is to go to dealers of both brands. That may mean going to two different dealers and try the different brands and models out.

Get the salesman out of the rig for 30 minutes to an hour and make believe you are "living" in the B - both the PW & the RT. I gave our salesman a $10 tip to get him out for a while. Don't be bashful. The dealers want your business.

Try the bed, take a short nap. Get on the toilet - is there enough room? We found the aisle shower setup in the RT was best in our case. (We use our shower pretty often - no bumping elbows here...). How does the kitchen galley area feel for the DW? I could go on and on. It really depends on your style.

Both brands are fine products. You will have to really try both units out "hands-on" to get the feel for them. At some point, you will say, "This is the one!" That is what happened in our case. My DW actually made the final choice (my choice too) when she test drove the Chevy vs. the Ford and Sprinter models. She just liked the "feel" of driving the Chevy.

Again, both companies are excellent. It is a matter of personal preference. You will have to do your homework as described above.
