Our snow from Friday's storm has all melted. So far we've had over 4" of snow at our place that has melted. But having rain/snow for several more days with temps around freezing at night and maybe low 40's during the day makes for a gray and gloomy time. We appreciate the moisture soaking into the ground. We're not used to a wet fall. Even the green leaves that were on the trees when the hard frost hit us are curled up and falling.

Ah, well, gotta get used to the global warming, whoops, climate change.

I'm in the Cincinnati area. Its been a pretty typical October. Furnace on at night, A/C on during the day. More rain than usual, though. The trees look confused. The grass is still growing.

Just got back from Western NC and it rained most of the time. No real color yet and the trees along the Blue Ridge Parkway are dying from insect infestations. SE Georgia was much better. Clear and mid 70's.

The fall colors in central and northern Ohio seem particularly vivid this year. quite a few trees still have leaves but most are very colorful.

My company, a really big electric utility had a lousy summer cooling season. Nobody needed AC this year. When we visited Michigan's upper Peninsula over Labor Day, they were having the only warm weather they had all summer. It was in the mid-70s. Global huh?

The fall colors in Vermont were real pretty last week... Except for the white part...
