When I joined this forum there was a battle by certain members to cause difficulty for Brad W. I assume the intent was to try and drive him off; either getting him to quit or be replaced.

In hindsight I realized the disadvantage that a moderator is placed in. It is far to easy for a troublemaker to cause trouble and then claim "picked on" when the moderator does his job. Unfortunately I placed myself in the wrong camp and joined in. I wish I hadn't, but what is the past is the past. Since then I've seen what was for what was and I quit.

In spite of this there never was examples of Brad misusing his moderating against me.

This has long past, and I suspect Brad has pretty much moved on. I do feel though that I should man up and give the public apology I owe him for my behavior.

PS: This isn't an invitation to rehash certain members and their status. If some can't resist the temptation, I request that Brad or Wayne lock it up.

I have no knowledge about the bad start you speak of, nor can I speak for any moderator, but we all make mistakes from time to time. I believe that those who have since read your many post appreciate you as a valuable contribuitor and member to this forum. So for whatever it's worth, from my perspective no further amends are in order. Nuff said...

p.s. Rumor has it that Brad just thrives on abuse!!

Nicely said. I will also admit to jumping on Wayne's case a time or two in the past. Not being forum savvy when I first joined here I also tried another site but found out I fit in better around here. At least I think I do....

Sorry Wayne........

I am older and wiser now.....

Why would anybody get on Wayne's case? I guess I don't get it, but hey, if you think you did somebody wrong and apologize, good for you.

A big lightbulb moment for me was the way Wayne was immediately jumped upon. Had I joined after Wayne was already in the moderating pool, I may have done the same thing. Fortunately that wasn't the case.

Matthew_B,

I appreciate the thought, but it’s not necessary. I have a pretty thick skin and a poor memory so it is difficult for me to develop a grudge in the first place and even harder to hold it very long because I forget what pissed me off in the first place.

Nobody is perfect on this forum, except for Admin (that goes without saying). We all have our short comings. Hey, I had a posted deleted today for flaming in the Class C forum! Moderators are just forum members like everyone else, only we have a few more powers and responsibilities. We do the best we can, but we all realize that many of the judgments we make are subjective and not everyone will agree with them. Sometimes that is because we make mistakes and sometimes it’s because the forum members don’t know all the facts. So, if you haven’t been pissed off by a moderator yet, just wait, it’s bound to happen sooner or later; just like I was today when my post got zapped.

The forum has its plusses and minuses, but overall, I think a lot of people benefit greatly from the information which is posted here by the members. I don't know anywhere else on the planet people can find the information which is posted here and available anytime free of charge. Ultimately, its the members who made this forum what it is.

Thanks for posting,
Brad

I've said it elsewhere so maybe I'd better say it here.

When I joined Brad was the mod for the TC section.

I prowl around find other forums on rving, and other topics too. For TCs this is the place for information. I know of no other forum that has the real information found here.

Yes, the credit goes to all who participate, but I remember when the workload of a moderator here got so heavy Brad ask for help and Wayne became a mod. So, sure Wayne deserves leadership credit too, but really it's Brad's leadership that started things going and gave the example.

It's participation too, the topics Brad starts himself. Do you remember when Brad was in the market for a new truck, the thread he started then: what do you need in a TC hauling truck..... I think it's a very good example of what I mean by leading by example.

As I said to start with I"ve said this elsewhere, in pms, in emails, not posted, but posting my opinion here first fits.

& I, I took the road less travelled by.

I have never had a bad thought or a bit of trouble with Wayne or Brad... I'm sure that I've given them a little heartburn occassionally... but I have always been treated fairly.

Thanks for doing a good job!
