Without getting political, please, does anyone know of a public shooting range in the Shenendoah National Park that has full autos for rent? We'll be in the area next summer and that's one of our favorite activities. Thanks.

Firearms are not allowed in National Parks, except possibly with a CC Permit. There are restrictions about discharging firearms too. There isn't any firing range in Shenandoah National Park.

Here is a Web Site that lists ranges in Virginia for you to investigate.

Only firing range in SNP is wherever the Law Enforcement go to practice. This would not be open to non-NPS people. I would be interested in knowing where one can rent a full auto weapon.

In fredericksburg VA about 75 mns from the park entrance you can rent MP5 to shoot. not in the park but it is a place to shoot. PM me if you want further info.

If you look on a map and find Warrenton, on Route 29, there is Opal just south and Clark Brothers is a shooting range. It is not far outside of the Park. Just take Route 211 at one of the entrances and head east. Closer than Fredericksburg.

Thanks all.

We've shot them so far in Texas and Arizona. There is a range in NH as well, but we haven't gotten there yet.

With the tremendous price jump of ammunition it will take a very short time to run up a huge ticket when you flip the switch on something like a Mac 10 or such.

While there aren't any shooting ranges in SNP,there are some in the George Washington and Jefferson National Forests. They don't rent weapons, you have to bring your own. Don't know if there any restrictions on full auto. See link below.
