Quote: If Outfitter is still producing 70 TC's per year in the current economy; that is pretty dang good.

You're right Trails, they should have. In PA & MD, where I practice Land Surveying the title companies hire folks like me to do "Mortgage Surveys," which involve us verifying corners, locating the improvements, and supplying them with all jurisdictional information like street address, town, township, county, and voting district. If they get to the settlement table without all the data, they don't settle and the title company has legal exposure. Not good..... I'd be surprised if the title company doesn't get sued by someone.
I even learned that scenario in Univ. of Wyoming! The might shoot bad title searchers there, I don't know.

I hope it is nothing more then a technical issue like the TCM article says, and it blows over soon. Not just because they are on my short list for my next camper, but also because I hate to see another innovative quality product disappear forever. At the rate things are going, when this recession is over we are only going to have 2 or 3 choices for campers - not necessarily the best, or the cheapest, etc, just the ones who could ride out the storm. There was a lot of innovation and evolution in the truck camper business over the last decade and it would be a shame if was lost.

I have to say that the guys at Outfitter are better at letting everyone know what's going on, unlike Earthroamer with absolute zero explanation of what happened (but ER did re-open a couple days later under a new company name)
I've seen these things happen, a simple typed wrong letter in the wrong place and it automatically becomes the person or business who's wrong in the bank's eyes, as the bank can "do no wrong" even though they messed up.

If I read the TCM article correctly- they refiananced with another bank- while holding a line of credit with the original bank
How does that work?? How does one change a note to another bank- while still holding a line credit at the orginal institution
It seems to me-lines of credit are issued to business's that have accounts with the institution. Lines of credit are issued when a business's may have slower returns or sales, so they can pay creditors.
Isnt that how the process works??

Quote: they say they will be out of chapter 11 in 3 weeks
I think all this speculation with very few of the real details/facts is pointless. The real answer should be know in a few weeks.

As an Outfitter owner who's been less than satisfied, I can't say I am surprised. My experience with them fits perfectly with a business that fails. I spent a lot of time in their shop, and not once did I see anybody from the front office lift a finger to try and sort out the chaos I found their workplace to be.
I was considering having Outfitter sell my Apex for me this summer; I had heard rumours of impending bankruptcy, and while I thought they were baseless, it did make me wonder if my camper would be seized by a bank if I left it on the lot. Just the uncertainty made me decide against leaving it with them.
Economic uncertainty is the new reality for RV manufacturers; so much of their business depended on credit. I don't foresee favourable credit conditions returning any time soon.
One thing is for certain, this is a time when this forum will be a valuable source of information for Outfitter owners. I have some issues that I am going to need advice on; hopefully I will be able to find it here.
