I have an 01 Dodge 1 ton DRW w/an Artic Fox 990 (4200#). The truck has the factory camper package w/overload springs and tortion bar. I have added Firestone Airbags and have a problem with sway with the camper loaded. The airbags don't help with the swaying but they do make a softer ride when pumped up to 90#!!
I have been reading about "bump stops" as a way to correct the sway. I have found three products which show promise.
1. Stable Load by Torquelift
2. SuperSway-Stops by Supersprings
3. Suspension Enhancement Systems by Timbren
Does anyone have any experience with these systems? Which one(s) have you found to be successful?
I am leaning towards either the Stable
Load or the SuperSway-Stops.
TIA

I have a '07' Dodge 3500 DRW with a '07' AF 990 also. I installed Energy Suspension bump stops which removed almost all the sway. I set my airbags to 40 psi on the drivers side and 50 psi on the passenger side. This seems to be my sweet spot, yours may be different. Torklift had not come out with their product yet when I installed mine. If I was doing it now I would go with Torklift, they make great products.......

I recently installed the Stabil-Loads by Torqlift on my 05 Dodge. Prior to installation there was a lot of sway. Now, none to speak of - of course, I also added a Helwig sway bar and new Bilstein shocks to go with the Firestone airbags. The bumper stops brought the helper spring into play and still allows me to maintain level with the airbags.

By any chance are your air bags plumbed together to a single fill? I suspect this'd be one possible cause of sway, or at least make it worse.

Nope...I have the in-cab dual controller that allows me to fill each bag individually....works great when I can't quite get the camper level, with the airbags I can make it perfect.

I have an 07 Dodge dually Q/C CTD 4x4 with Tembrens on the rear axle. When we moved up from our non-slide Citation to the heavier Eagle Cap 995 I installed Superspring Sway-Stops which cause the otherwise dormant factory overloads to engage, and the difference is huge. They are bolt-on items and can be easily installed at home in about 30 minutes. Sway is now all but gone and I barely even notice when the 60gal fresh water tank is full!

I installed the Energy Suspension bump stops on my '03 Dodge 3500 dually to haul my Lance long before there were the Stable Loads and similar products available on the market. I use Timbrens instead of air bags for additional support. I also have installed a Helwig anti-sway bar.
The way I found my bump stops was to go to the Energy Suspension web site and look up the part number of the bump stops. I purchased the bump stops from 4-Wheel Parts using the part numbers I found on the Energy Suspension web site. It's been so long since I purchased them that I don't recall the price, but it was probably less than $100.
I wrote an article in the Turbo Diesel Register Magazine several years ago about my suspension upgrades with part numbers, descriptions, photos, and installation instructions.
