I just received a notice that my work van, a 2001 Ford Econoline, has a safety recall. My RV is a Dodge based unit, no longer made.
I believe these Econolines were used for Rv's at one time.Apparently a speed deactivation conrol problem may cause brake fluid leakage, a fire hazzard. The risk is on all of these units, regardless of whether it has a speed conrol. I don't know about others years, but they sure did not change much, so I would call Ford, 1-888-222-2751 if you have an Econoline based RV from 2001 to current.
The repair is free and fast, they say.

The recall is for specific models and years only. the current batch of recalls is precautionary only and there have been NO reports of actual problems. They just contain a switch that is common to the ones that DID have incidents.
