My driver seat in my 1993 Dodge Van is too low. Any ideas on how to raise the height?

My wife said the same thing about our Sante Fe passenger seat. I put some spacer washers between the floor and the seat brackets and bolted it down again. It worked great. The drivers seat is fully electric so not a problem.

Put a swivel adapter on it if it doesn't already have a swivel seat. That would add a couple of inches.

Don't know you skill sets, but you could raise the seat with a frame of of 1/4" steel, depending on how much height you might need (?) and mount the tracks from the floor board on top of the frame.

Or, purchase steel box tubing wide enough to mount the tracks on - one per track - and bolt them through the floor using the track's original threading, then bolt the tracks on top of the the tubing. Go heavy with the tubing - 1/4"

Second method is easier as all you'd need for shop tools is a drill press. Lock washers and lock-tite on all the bolts. Just make sure the box tubing is wide enough for a solid base under the tracks and high enough to lift the seat where you desire it.

Wouldn't hurt to tack weld the tube to the floor for security. $20 - $50 to a competent welder.

Addendum - this method not only lets you keep the adjustability of the tracks, but by selcting where you drill the holes on top of the tube, you can move the basic placing of the seat to a more forward or rearward position if there's a need (for longer or shorter legs).

Growing old is no excuse for growing up.
