I think that if I was being filmed, I would have come to a complete stop at that red light before turning right.

Might check with some state laws...........When turning right no need to stop if no traffic is coming from left. There will be signs posted stating that too.

Oh, DO NOT turn up the sound!!!! unless you like jungle rap lol

every state I have gone thru had "right turn on red after stop". now lots of people do sort of slide thru. I asked my neighbor who was a police chief in New Jersey what she considered to be coming to a stop. her answer was "it depends on the officer's interpretation". I always thought that the vehicle had to settle back on the rear axle to qualify.

well this has a different opinion: can you cite a reference allowing rolling thru one?
http://www.leginfo.ca.gov/cgi-bin/displaycode?section=veh&group=21001-22000&file=21450-21468

"21453. (a) A driver facing a steady circular red signal alone shall stop ... and shall remain stopped until an indication to proceed is shown, except as provided in subdivision (b).
(b) ... a driver after stopping as required by subdivision (a), facing a steady
circular red signal, may turn right..."

So you do have to do come to a complete stop on a red, regardless of whether or not you think it is safe.

In our state, there are what they call red light cameras. That is, if you do not come to a COMPLETE stop, prior to the white line, and no part of your car is over the white line, you will get in the mail a $100 dollar ticket... You can contest it, but they have video of the incident, and you can even view it on your computer prior to forking over the $100 bucks. One intersection in our area, by a large shopping mall, generated over, and this is no joke, $1,000,000 (million) in fines in just over 3 months. This aspect of the camera was turned off due to the bad press, and the shopping centers concern that it hurt business. The cities and towns say it is for traffic safety, we say it is for the $$$$. So WATCH out.
But that car/boat is really cool.

I don't give a rat's hairy behind if he stopped at the red light or not. That was one cool ride!! Looked like Corvette taillights and a Dodge front clip. And it was the fastest amphibious vehicle I've ever seen in the water!
