I wouln't travel with much fresh water and don't travel with much in the holding tanks. Weight will be something you need to watch closly.

I think the biggest issue you will have is the Envoy's GVWR. My towing capacity is 5700 lbs. My trailer loaded currently weighs around 4150 lbs (that is with around 10 gallons of water). Once I add the trailer's tongue weight, I come in about 170 lbs below my TB's GVWR. If I towed at my rated tow capacity, I would surely be over the TB's GVWR.

Oh yah with that set up make sure all tanks are empty when towing.
If I'm only going 2-3 hours I don't even fill my gas tank.

UVW is the BASE weight of the trailer as it comes off of the assembly line without any optional equipment (and that includes forced options). By the time the options are installed it is not unusual for the weight to be 300 to 500 lb. heavier than the brochure states. If you're getting the UVW from the "shipping weight" sticker in the kitchen cabinet then that will include all options that were installed at the factory and the only added weight would be items installed by the DEALER. Do keep in mind though that the same situation exists with your truck. Tow RATINGS are always based on the base model truck with no options, no passengers and of course no cargo so it will be reduced by added weight of any of these items. Good luck / skip

I too am new to RVing and towing. I purchased a toyhauler, Funfinder Xtra245 and am towing with a Dodge Ram1500 with a 4.7 motor. I have a WD hitch, Reese with electric brake. The truck does not like hills but will pull it and does fine on the flats. I probably need to upgrade and will do in the future. I was extremely nervous about the pull the first time and live in Pennsylvania with hills but made it without trouble. Maiden voyage was to New Jersey shore and truck did great outside of the hills. As far as additional weight in the TT after all your belongings are added, I understand you will be no where near an extra 1000 lbs.
