Was wondering if anyone has ever stayed there. It is located on the C&O canal and Potomac river. Looks like a nice place. My son is into trains big time and it looks like a good place to see them as well. Any info would be great. Thanks Aaron

We've stayed there a couple of times and would go back. Check RV Park Reviews and the Town of Brunswick web site for more info. You can't see the trains from the campground because of the trees, but I guarantee you can hear them, all day and all night.

I'm into trains as well. Never done the Brunswick CG. But that CSX line just isn't that busy. I suggest you go to the Station Inn in PA. It is on the old Pennsy (formerly Conrail now NS) mainline west of the famous Horseshoe Curve. Depending on how big your rig is you can park behind the Inn. He has 20A electric and water but no dump. He also has a bathroom available with shower etc. You are entitle to one breakfast included. I go up and sleep in my van. Cheaper than the rooms. But there is generally a lot of train traffic. One of my favorite spots. Never had my 5er there though. You can sit on the porch and watch trains 24/7 if you want. The Inn is about 150' from the tracks. You'll love it. Or, just go and rent a room. It's not that expensive and he has a Jan/Feb 40% off sale going this year, again. Fun to watch trains in the snow.

Another option is to camp at Prince Gallitzin State Park in PA and just go down to Cresson, Gallitzin, Altoona or Horseshoe and watch trains. The state park is electric only but with full restrooms with showers. Nice park and not too far to the trains.

Ditto that...we live on the hill above the railyard...and the engines idle relentlesly..they only shut down for Christmas. I can't sleep if he trains aren't runnin' !
You do get the occasional freight train but mornings and evening are all commuter trains passing thru.
