Hi All.

We just changed out our ST-205X75R15 Duros. The only reason we changed them is they timed out. They were a little over 5 years old. No cracks of any kind or un-even wear. Never had a single problem. Also have never had a tire Blow-Out in over 40+ years as RV'ers. We also have never had a Car or a Truck Blow a Tire either. Good Luck. Happy Camping. Dan & Jill

I certainly wouldn't put any 15" ST tire under a trailer that heavy.

Do a search on ST tires on thie web or better yet do a google on ST (special trailer).

My 11200 gvwr 5er came with the same size ST ire. I don't use ST tires nor would I recommend anyone use them on a 12000 gvwr trailer. I upgraded to 16" wheels and LT E tires which will elimiate ST related tire problems and worries and big bucks for a TPS.

In this instance the age, size, rating, or brand of the tire makes no difference. They say made in Tiawan which is China so they will be a problem. In the last few years every tire I've had which was made in China has blown out long before age or mileage was an issue regardless of what service I tried to use them in. Last week I had another blow out on an equipment trailer while it was unloaded. The tire was G rated, had correct air pressure, less than two years old, and probably less than 2000 miles on it. It blew a hole straight though the center of the thread of the tire, not even in the sidewall. I have three or four more China tires on another equipment trailer which will be changed out Friday with Michelin XPS Ribs. It's not so bad to have a blow out on an equipment trailer but having them on a travel trailer often does some pretty good damage to the sides of the trailer. I will never chance a Chinese tire again.

I wouldn't buy anything from China if it were possible. I'm willing to pay more for products made in America!

I would be willing to bet that 9 out 10 products you buy every day are from China.

I do understand that these are poor quality tires. The part I don't understand is why the manufacturer would sell a product with a known under rated "D" tire. These tires were installed by the manufacturer. They would assume all liability by selling a defective combination of components and the first law suit would wipe out any profit they made by selling the less expensive tires. I also think the manufactures attorneys would want to protect their clients interests and advise them accordingly. JMHO .....So are my tires really under rated?

Besides the weight factor, most ST tires are rated at about 60 MPH max....that is one benefit of LT tires, as they are rated at higher speeds.

I upgraded my china tires for about 850 bucks, which included new aluminum 16" wheels. My wallet didn't like the decision, but I feel better for it knowing my tires can handle the speeds and loads.

What you are failing to understand is that the trailer manufacture is out of the loop on tire warranty. Tire warranty is completely in the hands of the tire company just like every auto sold in the USA. It is a giant numbers game on the part of a the tire companies. And just try to take legal action against a chinese company!!!!

The manufacturer is required to match your axle rating with the OE tires. So if you have 5000# axles they have done that.

The automobile industry is head and shoulders above the RV trailer industry when it comes to providing reserve load capacity in their OE tires.

No the tires are not under rated. Close to the max yes, under rated no.

With a ~2100 dry pin your axles at GVWR will carry about 10,000 max and the tires are rated 10,160. Most likely you are a bit under GVWR, yes? I would guess your axles are carring 8500 to 9000 pounds but you should weigh it to verify. The DURO radials seem to do OK. Read the trouble posts again and you will see bias or no designation. The radial posts seem to be good.

I would keep them aired up to the 65 psi max and run them for at least a couple years.

BTW all ST are rated 65mph.
