We too have been looking in the same area and at 2 of the 3 same mfgs. Heartland and SB. We had a 30' SB RKFS and loved it. One more mfg we are considering is Cameo.

It did have a frame structure consisting of 2 - 2x6" rectangular box tube. But I have heard that SB is now using Lippert for some of their lower end units. Their slide mechanism was second to none. They provided dealers with working floor demo setups of the slide mechanism.

A concern I have with SB is their pin weights have grown. They may be more honest - unfortunately you never know if they are on a level playing field with all the rest.

I just emailed a dealer asking if they could clarify the warranty. Ours had a 2 year but we never needed it. We never had a problem in 8 years. Sold Apr 2009.

Another mfg you might want to consider is Open Range. Here are links to almost all.

Don't recollect anyone calling themselves an expert in here. Only three models were asked about, I believe if you do a little research, you'll find that almost every manufacturer has had some good ones and has also produced an occasional "bad" one, including Sunnybrook. In reality all three aren't bad. Guess you love yourself, because you too apparently are a self proclaimed expert on the suject, as least you came off as one...Most stated in here are opinions, or opinions based on experience............

Not an expert, just a guy with a deep appreciation for a solid foundation as I tend to think all rv's are made the same using the same stuff as there competitors withing the various price ranges and my "opinion" is longivity starts with a good foundation, So based on that there are very few manufactures that use the 15" plus frame or double stacked rectangular tubing.

And there is more than just one, (Sunnybrook), that also builds with just as solid a foundation...really, I don't know why I'm discussing this with you, except for the fact that you came on with a bit of an attitude towards others. I feel SB is a great unit. Not all RV's are made with the same "stuff", some are, some aren't and some are better, some aren't. I can walk all over my roof with no soft spots and there is no "creaking floor's" in mine, but I know there are better 5er's out there than mine and I know that there are quite a few that aren't. We agree Sunnybrook is a good one, not the best and far from the worse.

We still love our Big-Horn (A step above the Big Country) after 2 years. No major problems, come to think of it....no little nagging ones either. My only two wishes not fufilled on this unit would be stainless steel sink and some See-level gauges for the tanks.
As Deck B said earlier....after the sale service is big. Our dealer is 30 miles down the road and has done us well.

My 09 Big Horn came with a SS sink, and has the tank level monitors (for what they are worth).

I will also add We love our Big Horn. We're not fulltimers but we have been ours since mid April and haven't had any major problems.

Received this from a near by dealer. I believe this is consistent with most mfgs. They Warranty the construction and the mfgs of the addons handle their own.

"SunnyBrook has not changed their warranty since I have been dealing with them. That is about 4 years now. There is the usual one year warranty that is bumper to bumper. Various manufacture warranties kick in after that, up to the water lines that have a 25 year warranty".

We bought a Sunny Brook Bristol Bay almost one year ago (Nov 7th to be exact) and have lived in it since and we love it. Have taken it 8000 over the road miles and have had it up numerous dirt forest service roads and have had 0 problems with anything other than an 8 dollar light that the switch went bad. We lived through winter last year in Utah with -23 degree temps. never had a frozen water line, or tank. It is a solid unit and we love it and would not hesitate to buy another one when the time comes.

Whatever trailer you go for, please take a look at the tires. Don't sign on the dotted line if it has Unicorn Express, Missions or some other never heard of before "China bombs"! You'll be on cloud-nine driving it home until you hear a shotgun blast go off under the trailer. Wammo, there's $3000 worth of damage.

All three of the trailers you are looking at were on our short list. We had a Sunnybrook and were very happy with it.

We ended up with the Big Country by Heartland. The interior finish was a little better (IMHO) than the SB or the HR and the floor plan of the 3250 offered exactly what we had on our priority list. We feel we made a good choice.
