I was at Emerald Desert in Palm Desert a few weeks ago sharing the facility with only 11 other rv's. If anyone is there now I would be curious to see if the new management has really scared people away with the increased price or if I was just too early in the season.

I will be going to Palm Springs next week. Staying at Signature Resorts Indio, the newer section. What made you choose Emerald Desert. Shall I go there instead?

$885/mo + electricity for an extended stay ( 31 days ) is enough to scare me away. We stay in Tucson area for around $500/mo + elec. Since I haven't actually seen the Resort, I am basing it only on price.
The above quote of $885 was for the cheapest site in the resort.

I have also stayed at Signature Resort and the Motorcoach Resort in Indio but last year I started going to Emerald Desert because it was closer to the Palm Springs area. It is a nice park, nice ameneties and great people to hang out with - just a lot of fun. However, with the new management the prices have increased to the level of the Sig. and Motorcoach Resorts. So I'll be returning to those this winter - still working so I only get a week here and there. I was just curious about the current situation since I like to go to busy active locations.

Don't forget about the other Outdoor Resort in Cathedral City on Ramon at Date Palm. Cathedral City is right next door to Palm Springs. This particular Outdoor Resort has 1,200 spaces and allows 5th wheels.

They sold off 2/3 of the resort; management went to pot; they just sold out to Sunland and now they have increased the rents by a large margin, yet no new improvements. If you reserve (even a year ahead in time) for a group of say 15 or 20, they refuse to make any effort in putting you all together. Several groups that I know well have found themselves scattered all over the resort. This tells me that A) they can't manage an RV resort, B) hey don't care about groups or the individual RVer.
I for one (or many, I may add) will not be returning to Emerald Desert again. There is much better selection and availability in the neighborhood and it comes with better sites, less costs, better management, and much more caring about their "bread & butter".
The Outdoor Resorts are a definite improvement over Emerald Desert, and there are others also that warrant a consideration.
