looking at a 2010 Jayco Designer with all options on it. MSRP is $69,200 and I have worked out a deal for $49,000 which is a 29% discount. working with a local dealer past 3 days. Started at $57,500 on his end. Seems like a good deal to me but have not pulled the trigger yet.

The actual cost is around $38,000 but dealers will seldom go lower than 30% anyway....overhead, commissions, etc.

That is about the average discount for the online dealers like RV Direct or RV Wholesalers. They SOMETIMES go as high as 40% on RV Direct. Good luck / skip

thanks Skip, you are right, RV Express was at about 35% but I had to go to Indiana to pick it up and I think it would be better to buy local if I can for the better service... this unit is a really nice unit and is about 500 to 700 pounds under all my ratings for axles and trailer weights.

I'm assuming the final price is just for the new Jayco and does not include any trade-in you might have?

If I remember right you are getting the 35RLTS model? We have the 2008 version of that and really love it but remember the pin weights on these are upwards of 2800+ lbs and wet weight is around 13000lbs (mine is actually 14000lbs) so hopefully you have an appropriate truck...

We got ours with most of the options (all except for larger refrigerator, W/D, and second AC...

selling the other unit straight out and of course I will loose some money doing that, that would but me at 25% off on the MSRP if I am realistic about it.... the Jayco is a 35 RLSA
the factory weighed tag on the door is 11,492lbs so the pin weight would be 20% of that at 230 lbs??,and would be pulling with a 2003 7.3 PS... I know I am doing this fast as you pointed out, but it is a nice unit... maybe to nice for us to only camp for 5 weeks a year in. thanks

How do you know that?

States I have spent the night in my current rig, bought three years ago.
Have RV'ed through 49 states and been in all 50, just short of my half-century.

Sounds like a good deal to me. If you like the floor plan go for it. Remember the dealer has to make money to stay in business.

I purchased my 08 35RLTS (in Sept of 08) which listed at about the same MSRP as your unit for $46k. It has just about all the options except for a gen, W/D and double pane windows.

We don't camp much more than you do but we still went ahead with purchasing it now so as to get it paid off before we retire and become snowbirds in about 8-10 years(?)
