So I am in the process of revamping my Audio/Video in my trailer and I am wondering, how in the heck do you remove the wall mount radio? I'm usually pretty good with car audio but this thing baffles me, I don't want to break anything so I want to be sure before prying away.

I know there are 2 holes on either side of the radio, could these be the clips to remove it? All the cabinets are sealed around the radio so I'm thinking so.

This is the style of radio, but not the actual brand.

Thanks in advance!

Mine doesnt have those screws in the pic, I wish I could remember the mfr, but I will check tonight when I get home to see if there are maybe those 4 screws in front that are covered by a bezel.

We can only guess what you have.

Mine looks like the older style car radios. Wide but short top to bottom. I installed it myself and it came with two thin flat metal bars. The instructions call for sliding one bar in on each side and that releases the tabs.

Yours will probably be different. Get the brand and model number off the radio. Type that info into Google or your favorite search engine and you can probably find the installation instructions and manual.

I took out the piece of junk that came in mine and replaced it with a double din Pioneer I had laying around. Just 6 screws on the front basel. I ended up having to replace the entire piece of paneling on the end on my kitchen cabinet because the pioneer was smaller hole.

I found the speaker wiring was all screwed up. They had the left and right controlling one speaker in the bedroom and one in the living room and the fade controlling the other two and the neg speaker wires were all commoned together. It made no sense at all.

I also replaced the cheap speakers in the LR with some quality flush ceiling mount 3 way speakers.

It ended up being one of my best mods yet.

On mylist as well, already fixed some of it by wiring in the subwoofer correctly and adding its own amp and filter, works TOO good now!!! New speakers are next as is some kind of fader so I can play inside and out without blasting the inside, haven't figured that one out yet.

Turns out that there was a verticle 1" wide bezel on both sides of my radio. They popped right off revealing 6 screws, 3 on each side. Pulled the unit and looks like Forest River got the wiring right but it is a mess in there! I cleaned it up, added a new Aux input with a 25 foot cable so I can have the ipod outside and the door closed.

I have a pair of Rockford Fosgate component speakers I'm installing in the interior to replace those cheap paper things that came from the factory. Trying to figure out how I'm gonna mount the tweets to the ceiling, this could be interesting as I'm trying not to cut into the ceiling of my new trailer. I'll be running them off an Alpine 100 x 4 amp (which i'm also trying to figure out where to mount) Next I'll do exterior marine speakers and the sub.

Has anyone upgraded their stock trailer audio system with multiple amps?
Any ideas?
