I just picked up the trailer from storage and 1/2 way home, I noticed the lights on my Prodegy brake controller were not working correctly. While driving, the letters 'n.c.' were lit up and when I applied the brake, this poppped up '..' just 2 periods. I don't have the owners manual anymore but the quick reference guide is still in the truck, It says the 'n.c.' means no charge and should have gone away within 15 seconds of hooking up the trailer....which it didn't. It didn't say anything about the '..'reading. The pamphlet had no troubleshooting on it. Here is the catch...the brakes still work on the trailer. The truck and trailer are both fairly new (3 years old) and the Prodegy braked control was installed professionally. Everything worked fine on my last trip just three months ago. We plan on taking this over the Pacheco Pass by Hollister where I definitely need brakes! Like I said, the brakes are working fine on the trailer, there is just an issue with the lights on the controller. Is this safe? Does anyone know what the problem might be? Thanks for your help!

Here is the manual for you:
Prodigy manual
First thing I would check is the 7 pin connector plug. Perhaps a bit of dirt or corrosion in there has messed up the contacts. The Prodigy can sense when it is plugged in.

I think the brake control is ok, the sign are that you are not connected right. Take a look at the above clicky.

I checked the link (thanks btw) and its troubleshooting guide does not cover what is happening to me. I will try to clean the connectors tomorrow but in the meantime, it has me worried. We were suppose to leave with the kids on Friday and I'd hate to tell them the trip is not happening.

Your n.c. reading is NO CAMPER. Something is wrong with your connection. Have you tried unplugging it and plugging it back in?

Had the same problem with my Prodigy. NC means "not connected" on mine. Cleaned the pins in the connector and solved the problem. Good luck.
