I thought there was another Amex/costco card that was not a business card and offered rewards but the rewards were not as high as the business amex/costco card?

Our Amex/Costco card is non-business. Haven't received the latest statement yet, so we'll see.

Yep, it's the current card that pays 4 percent for fuel...
The new language is on page 7 of the new statement... which I just got...
I guess the worse they could do is cancel the card...if they think you're not using it for business purposes... But if I bought a WII at Costco would they know?

So . . . change your Costco membership to a Business membership.

IIRC - the membership fee is the same.

My membership is a business one. And we do have a business and use the card. But we also use it for travel, fuel and dining...
Now we'll be restricted to business use only - if we keep the card.

You are correct. I just checked the Costco web site and there is the business card which rebates 4% on gasoline plus the other categories for rebates. There is also the non-business card which rebates 3% on gasoline plus the other rebate categories at the same rates as the business card. We will just switch to the non-business card. Both are free with the Costco membership.

Makes me glad my Amex cash-back card isn't tied to Costco.

This really has nothing to do with Costco per se. As I understand it, AmEx does not want their BUSINESS cards used for non-business expenses. There is an AmEx non-business card that can be used for whatever you want--where AmEx is accepted. I intend to switch to the non-business card soon. If I remember correctly, AmEx is the only credit card Costco accepts. I drop a chunk of change at Costco and I might as well get the "double blessings"--the rebates from Costco and AmEx. The card is free annually with a Costco membership.

The change was on Nov. 1 statement. I got a notice by email and it was on my monthly statement which is emailed to my bank for epayments.
I opened the account statement and went to page 7 as directed by the email. It states the following:

We are replacing the first paragraph of the Using the Card section with the following:
"You agree that you will use the Card only for commercial or business purposes on behalf of the Company. You agree that this Card
Account shall not be used for personal, family or household purposes. Charges are for business purposes only and are to be reported to
the Company for expense report processing in accordance with Company policy. Each use of the Card Account constitutes a loan for
business or commercial purposes to the person named on the Card and the Company by us. You are accountable for any
reimbursements and agree to remit such funds to us promptly. This Agreement has no effect on, and shall not be affected by, the
Company's policies regarding the reporting and reimbursement of expenses.

It was on the statement dated Nov. 1.

This looks like the standard language on a card that is given to company employees (yeah, I've had a couple over my years). If you're the company owner, you decide whether it's a business expense. That Wii is obviously for the Company break room.
