The space is what you make of it and how you deal with it. With slide-outs the room created is "aisle" room. If you'll be spending the winter in a warm region, chances are you'll be spending a lot of time outdoors so you won't feel cramped. After you have lived in your coach a few months you'll know if you really need more room.

We have slides however whenever we have a severe storm we pull in the big slide in the main living area to protect the slide awning from snow load and make it easier to heat. We will get a bit cabin feverish but after 3 years of this type of scenario taking place...we are used to it.

Just enjoy your new lifestyle and don't worry about not having slides just yet.

Stick with your present MH for this season. You have received good info above. We own a 945 Lance truckcamper that we love and I will not sell. We used it for seven years before also buying a 32' 5th wheel with two slides. That worked great for snowbirding for four years. Sold it last Nov. and now have a four slide 40'coach. All were and are great. If I had to we could snowbird in the Lance but thank goodness we are not. Enjoy what you have and do lots of talking and looking prior to changing. This coach purchase took over two years to find the right one. In those two years I did lots of reading and asking others their opinions. Have a warm and healthy winter. Rob

We love the slide on our motorhome. We had one previously with a kitchen slide. It was a narrow slide. When we saw our current DP with the slide out my first thought was - it looks like you built another room on it. Had it for 2 years and still feel the same way every time I watch the slide move out. But if you aren't sure you probably should wait.

You will spend a lot of time outside during the winter in Florida. My Mother & Dad spent the winters in a 23 ft trailer for many years and enjoyed them all. If I was you I would come with what you have and then after one Winter you will know if you need more room.

We spent last winter in Florida, 4 months in a Fleetwood Fiesta with no slides. We were very happy with it. We have 4 dogs. We saw a Bounder with a bath and a half and 2 slides and since everything fell into place, we bought it. We've only had it for 4 months, so far no trouble with the slides. We're glad to have the extra room, but most of all, glad to have the extra bathroom. So, if it were me, I'd wait & see what you want in a mh after spending a few months in it.

I would stick with your current MH for this trip... you are familiar with it and hopefully it wil serve you well. WIth a new/used one, you will likly turn up problems that will need to be addressed and you really don't want to do that on the road on a first trip . Once you are down South , you will be outside much of the time so space isn't as much of an issue as it is when you are in an inclimate area.
We did a few cross country trips in a 28 ft MH with no slides and managed to survive. We have a Pace Arrows Vision with 2 slides now, it's nice with the extra room, but other than for a rainy day , we are outside except to sleep or watch a movie at night .

If the weather is good, slides are overrated.
