This may sound strange. But, sometimes there is just enough flexing in a rim, that the wheel cover will make a little noise, especially if the vehicle is driven slowly.

Like the one fellow says, take the cover off and see if that is the problem.

My Class C does it too, I took it to the shop and they said it was the wheel cover and I came back and searched the forum, found it is pretty common.

I had a similar sound on the pass side and turn out it was the wheel cover. Over time it had rounded out the two holes so could move a little bit. I have thought of drilling and tapping new holes but have not got around to it yet. Drivers side just started making the same sound so it is off also.

After ruling out rocks, screws, wheel covers, etc, TEMPORARILY swap it to the other side to see if the sound follows it or stays on the same side. In addition to the other suggestions, I've also seen examples of this sound being caused by a crack in the wheel.

One more vote for the wheel cover. Your description sounds like what happened to me. It only does it on the front driver side wheel. The only thing that has worked is applying grease where it contacts the steel wheel, and it only helps for a while. If anyone comes up with a permanant cure, please post it. The good news is that its easy to figure out if it's really the problem and not something more expensive or dangerous. Bad news, it drives me nuts.

Thanks to all who offered suggestions to fix my little problem.
I took the wheel cover off and drove the RV around the block really slow and didn't hear any clicking/ticking sound. Then I made sure that all of the artificial lug nuts were tight on the wheel cover ( one was a little loose) then put it back on the rim and secured it tightly but not too tight. The next drive around the block was good news. No noise. Seems like the problem is solved.
Again, thanks for the suggestions.
