Both my AC covers have vertical cracks on their leading edge. What is the best cement / sealant to repair the cracks before they expand and force the covers apart at highway speed ? Thanks.

If there cracked because they are rather old, I'd look into replacing them.

I wonder, if after gluing, it might help to put Eternabond on both sides of the cracks for extra strength.

It all depends on what you want it to look like. I would use an epoxy glue at crack, them get a fiberglass repair kit from an auto parts place and put that in the inside to reinforce it. Other wise it will probably just crack again. Sand and paint.

Yep! I agree with this one as that's how I did mine. The plastic is too thin and has to be strengthened in order to take the stress and remain intact during highway speeds and flexing from bumps in the road.

You might want to start at a hobby shop, they have glues that will weld (melt) the plastic at the crack together forming a better seal. Then, I agree get a small fiber glassing kit to reinforce the area.

Heat and the UV take their toll and make them brittle after a number of years.
Repairing a brittle cover is a temporary fix. Might consider buying a new one.
Have it Rhino sealed for extra strength and UV protection.

I used Eternabond on my cracks ... white on white covers. Going down the road at 60 mph at no can see the tape and standing next to MH no can see the covers. But with a handle like mine, you can tell I am not too fussy.
